With eight locations across the upper Midwest, Auer Steel features Bryant, Carrier,Payne, AirQuest and Midea furnaces, air conditioners, and accessories as well as many industry leading brands of HVAC equipment and accessories.
Don Curtes, Sr. founded the business in 1940 on his philosophy of providing quality products with superior customer service.
Today, Auer Steel is a closely-held corporation owned and operated by the Curtes family. The Company's growth and success has always depended on a commitment to serving our customers. Auer Steel continues to have highly-skilled, dedicated and motivated employees who carry on Don Sr.'s commitment to value-added service.
Company Timeline
- 1940 - Auer Steel was formed when Don Curtes Sr. opened the first location on Auer Avenue in Milwaukee, WI
- 1951 - The company quickly outgrew it's original location and moved the business to a new space on Fond du Lac Avenue in Milwaukee
- 1977 - The company moved to it's current 108,000 square foot location on Silver Spring Drive in Milwaukee
- 1980 - Auer Steel expanded it's footprint by opening regional satellite branches across Milwaukee.
- 1995 - Expands the operation to Minnesota and begins serving customers in nearly the entire state as well as eastern North Dakota and northwestern Wisconsin
- 2004 - Aquires the Bryant distributor serving Appleton, Wausau, Green Bay, notheastern Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
- 2010 - Auer Steel Twin Cities is relocated to a modern, newly renovated 110,000 square foot facility in Plymouth, MI
- 2013 - Branch and modern training facility opened in Madison, WI
- 2015 - Celebrated it's 75th Anniversary by opening it's Fargo location - stretching the company's service territory to all of Minnesota and eastern North Dakota
